Our speaker tonight is Simon Ginnaw.

Woodlands and forests are places of myths, legends and fairytales!! Our woodlands are also packed from floor to the highest canopy with wildlife – but they’re not always easy to see. Simon will take us on a walk in the woods following the seasons, to discover beautiful butterflies, plentiful birds, and the mysterious creatures of the night.

“I have always been passionate by our natural world, being fascinated by the Collins Bird Guide when I was just 2.  After receiving my first pair of binoculars at the age of 6 and my interests have shaped my life to date.  I have lived in Kent all my life and have been working and volunteering in and around conservation and wildlife education for over 15 years now.

I am fortunate to work in and around the county as a professional wildlife holiday tour director & leader, as a guest speaker/lecturer, ornithological consultant, and woodland officer. I love meeting people and sharing with them the things that excite me about nature, especially my main area of expertise which is bird behaviour.”
